This classic jabłecznik combines sweet apples and warm spices for a comforting dessert that is perfect for any occasion.

- 4 cups sliced fresh apples
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture until just blended.
- Fold in the apple mixture and pour into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let it cool completely before slicing and serve with vanilla ice cream.
