Description
Bigos, known as hunter’s stew, is a hearty Polish dish that combines smoked meats and sauerkraut for a rich, savory flavor, perfect for warming up on cold winter nights.

- 500g pork shoulder
- 300g beef
- 200g smoked sausage
- 400g sauerkraut
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Cut the meats into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pot. Brown the meats on all sides.
- Stir in the sauerkraut, black pepper, salt, paprika, and bay leaf. Mix well.
- Cover and let it simmer on low heat for at least two hours, stirring occasionally.
